The Tasmanian Cervical Screening Register is an important part of the National Cervical Screening Program. Registers operate in all states and territories of Australia and together, they support the National Cervical Screening Program with client screening history and data collection.
How the register can help
The Tasmanian Cervical Screening Register keeps a confidential record of all cervical cancer test results in Tasmania and contacts women who are overdue for their next test to remind them to make an appointment with their doctor.
The register is a free service and can help by:
- keeping your personal information and screening history up-to-date and accurate
- sending you a reminder if you are overdue for a Pap smear
- assisting your cervical cancer test provider to make sure you have appropriate follow-up care if you need it, and
- protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your results.
The register does not provide pap smears. For information on where to go to have a Pap smear, visit the where to have a Pap smear page.
